COVID-19: Key Things To Know
We are delighted that all areas of our hotel are fully open and would like to say a big thank you for all the support you have shown us.
Whilst many visible signs of our safety measures have now been removed, we want you to feel reassured that your safety and our team member's safety are of utmost importance.
We continue to operate in a very safe way – a way which has become the new normal for us and we continue to follow the government guidelines which can be seen here.

We're really proud to have been awarded the 'We're Good To Go' certificate from Visit England; the official mark to confirm we have a risk assessment and the correct processes in place to make Middletons safe for our team and guests.
AA COVID-19 Confident:
We’re also really proud to have been accredited COVID-19 Confident by the AA – another independent assessment of the safety measures we have in place.
We are providing all our team members with the option of wearing a face covering or visor should they choose to wear one. Whilst it is no longer a legal requirement for our guests to wear a face-covering in public areas we ask that you continue to respect others personal space and wear a face-covering where you feel necessary i.e. in busy areas
Dining With Us
Please pre-book a table for both breakfast and dinner ahead of your stay so we can try and ensure you a time that suits.
We will continue to follow government guidance ensuring risk assessments and staff training are completed
Whilst we have increased the capacity of our gym, please pre-book your visit to of your stay so we can try and accommodate you at your chosen time.
Can I Cancel My Room Booking Should Things Change?
You can book an overnight stay with confidence knowing that we offer free cancellations on all fully-flex rates up until 10:00am on the day of arrival. Please note that you will need to pre-book for use of the gym and for breakfast and dinner spaces.
Since reopening we are really proud to have won various awards for our Covid secure operations that are in place across our property and within our business areas.

What are check in and check out times?
You’re welcome to check in from 3pm – if you arrive in the city earlier and need us to store some luggage we’re happy to oblige. Check out time is 11am.
Is the hotel dog-friendly?
We have 4 dog-friendly rooms and provide a cosy bed for your four legged friend to sleep on. Whilst we do not permit dogs into our restaurant or other public areas they are very welcome in our sun lounge area as well as our outdoor dining area.
Dogs are not permitted in our cottage rooms.

Is there a car park?
Yes – unusually for such a central city location – we are blessed with an onsite car park. Access is via a barrier and you will need an exit code from reception. Charges are £10 per night. Spaces are limited and cannot be reserved but we have several local car parks just a few minutes’ walk away should the rare occasion arise that we are full. Use the postcode YO1 6DU.
Why not book direct with us? Not only do we guarantee you the best rate, you will also get free parking for the length of your stay. Free parking is only available to guests booking direct and is subject to availability.
What family facilities are there?
We have family rooms that can take up to 2 adults and 3 children. The Sir Joseph Terry cottages can accommodate up to 6 people and are ideal for larger family groups. We offer high chairs, children’s menus and cots/ extra beds too.
Do you cater for special diets?
Yes – we have a team of talented in house chefs and if you let us know – ideally in advance for more unusual requests – we’ll do all we can to ensure you can enjoy a great meal with us. Vegetarian and dishes made with non-gluten containing ingredients appear on our main menu as the norm.
