WELCOME TO MIDDLETONS!
A SANCTUARY OF 17TH-CENTURY BUILDINGS INSIDE YORK CITY WALLS A FEW MINUTES WALK FROM THE ACTION
A fantastic collection of Grade II and Grade II* buildings set around a courtyard garden within the ancient city walls. An old hospital, two Joseph Terry Almshouses, an organ factory, a sawmill and a row of Georgian townhouses make for an unrivalled architectural gem steeped in history.
Inside, our guest bedrooms are the quiet base to explore everything York has to offer, decorated with a sympathetic eye to their incredible setting. Our restaurant and bar areas are comfortably modern with a twist, like our Kenyan roundhouse breakfast room – elsewhere the buildings bristle with original features.
After a busy day sightseeing, relax in a deep sofa and enjoy a signature serve cocktail or a pint of our famous Thwaites cask ale before enjoying a beautifully cooked dinner made with fresh, local ingredients in the conservatory restaurant. When the Yorkshire weather is kind, eat al fresco on our tranquil courtyard terrace – a wonderful sun trap.
Middletons really is a quiet haven out of the hustle and bustle of the city whilst being a stone’s throw from the tapestry of attractions that historic York is famous for.
